Josh Gage was born and raised on Orcas Island in the San Juan Islands. Being the youngest of three boys, he started competing in sports at a young age and began playing football when he was nine years old. At the end of his sophomore season in high school Josh transferred to Edison High School to play for the Chargers. He played Football, Basketball and ran Track but his passion was for football. Josh was awarded Team Back of the year his junior year and was named All- Sunset league for both offense and defense as a running back and safety. He was named All -Sunset league for defense his senior year as a linebacker, was awarded team MVP and invited to play in the Orange County All –Star game.
Following his senior season, Josh was invited to walk on for the University of Washington as a linebacker. In 2006, his sophomore season, he was awarded the Brian Strapp Award for scout special team’s player of the year and earned a scholarship. He lettered three seasons for the Huskies and earned significant playing time. Josh played in 35 games and started in six. He ended his career with 52 tackles, 6 tackles for a loss of 19 yards, 2 forced fumbles, 2 fumble recoveries and 2 sacks for 7 yards. His senior season he was game captain verses USC, UCLA and CAL. Josh graduated in December 2009 with a degree in Sociology.
After his experiences playing football, he has grown a passion for developing young athletes and seeing them reach their potential. He plans on continuing his education in the field of strength and conditioning.
In January of 2008 Josh married the love of his life, Lauren, and they reside in Huntington Beach, California.
